Halloween is right around the corner and here at Buzzkill Pest Control in Dallas, we like to think ahead! One of our favorite past times as kids is dressing up to go trick-or-treating. Going door to door, checking out the decorations, and waving to neighbors is a nice memory most of us have. Even adults enjoy dressing up though, which is why we have a few fun Halloween costume ideas. Since we offer pest control services, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that our costumes are bug and rodent themed! Here are a few creative ideas for your Halloween costume.
Bumble Bee Costume
A bumble bee costume is an easy DIY for you and an easy thing for us to fix if your home as a bee control problem. For this costume you’ll need a black long sleeve tee, black leggings, and store-bought wings. Take yellow duct tape and wrap it around your tee and leggings for the yellow stripes. For antennae, find a black headband and wrap black pipe cleaners around it so they stick up at the end. Glue yellow craft balls onto the ends of the pipe cleaners. If you have pest control problems, give us a buzz!
DIY Mouse Costume
The tiny creatures that get into your home and eat your electrical wiring also happen to be quite cute and make a fantastic Halloween costume. For a DIY mouse costume, you’ll need a gray bodysuit, a belt to tuck the tail into, mouse ears (easily found at major retailers), and Halloween face makeup. Color your nose pink with the makeup and draw thin gray or black horizontal lines across your cheeks for whiskers. Consider carrying around a fake piece of cheese for added fun. The rodents infesting your home will be impressed with your creativity and so will we!
Spider Web Costume
Spiders are down right creepy, which is why we offer insect extermination. However spider webs make for a clever costume idea. Take cheesecloth and spread it out, pulling at it to create a distressed, creepy look. Hot glue plastic spiders all over the cheese cloth and let it dry. When it’s time to wear your costume, either safety pin the cheesecloth or use a hot glue gun to adhere the edges together. Wear pale makeup and black lipstick to finish the costume.
Pest Control Costume
If you’d rather be the pest control expert instead of the pest, this costume is for you! Get a white or beige jumpsuit, rubber gloves, breathing mask, and several plastic spiders and rats. Lay your jumpsuit out flat on a table and hot glue the spiders and rats all over the suit. If you want to take your costume to the next level, add a DIY insect vacuum backpack. Take two empty two-liter soda bottles and spray paint them silver or black. Cut holes towards the top and bottom to string rope through so you can carry it on your back. Use silver duct tape to stick the two-liter bottles together. Any pest control company would be proud to have you on their team!
